Out-of-Print
searches
will, of course, usually take longer
and we will keep you apprised of our progress in finding your
book. Again, the author and title are important and any special
needs, such as only a First Edition of the title, can help us
find the exact book you want. Once we locate your book, we will
let you know the price so that you may decide whether or not
you wish to purchase it. We do not order O/P (out of print) books
without prior approval from the person placing the order.
The Rare and Out-of-Print section of Moby Dickens
was established in 1989, recognizing the growing number of books
that publishers allow to go out-of-print each year as well as
the joy of collecting fine editions of treasured books and the
needs of scholars to have specific volumes at their fingertips.
The Out-of-Print section in Moby Dickens is upstairs and is largely
a collection of Western and New Mexico titles, although other
areas are covered. Art and Judith are responsible for the O/P
section and will assist you in finding any title desired. There
is no obligation for the search and, when the book is located,
you will be informed as to the price so that you may decide whether
you wish to acquire it. It is a given that the book will be in
good or better condition - Moby Dickens will not handle books
that are not in good condition - and any qualifying characteristics,
such as Ex-Library or Book Club Editions will be clearly indicated.
We
have an extensive network of dealers,
at home and abroad, with whom we are
in contact for searches and we advertise in O/P journals as well
as subscribing to systems on the Internet. We will do everything
possible to find your book.
