| In response to
the large number of mystery fans in the Taos community, Moby Dickens
created "Who Did It? A Grammatically Correct Mystery Book Club." Monthly
luncheon meetings are held on the third Wednesday each month. |
|
| Club members
love to discover new writers. One unusual choice was Australian writer,
Arthur Upfield, who wrote stories set in the Australian outback with a half-Anglo,
half-Aboriginal detective named Napoleon Bonaparte as his protagonist. Tony Hillerman
acknowledged his debt to Upfield in creating his own Native American law enforcement
characters, Jim Chee and Joe Leaphorn. |

| Mystery Book
Club meetings are informal, sometimes almost rowdy! But we do take our
books seriously. Current Who Did It? events are always posted at the store and
on our website. |
|
| Frequent visits
to the Club by mystery writers enhance the discussions. Guest authors have included
Douglas Preston, Margaret Coel, James Doss, Pamela Christie, and Hampton Sides. |
