Moby Dickens Bookshop was started in December, 1984 by Art and Susan Bachrach. We offer a complete selection of local authors and Southwest books, as well as a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction with the best mystery selection in the Southwest.

Susan and Art are active owners as well as overseers of specific shop sections reflecting their interests and skills. Our customers have the added benefit of the owners' presence and guidance for their literary and reference searches. In the years since opening, the shop has grown in size and direction, guided by the needs of our customers. It is our desire to bring to our customers not only the latest, but also the best, in an ever-changing selection of books, while maintaining a base of fine books from past years. We can obtain any book currently in print; all you have to do is ask. In addition, we have an in-house, active out-of-print section with access to sources all over the world. We have complimentary gift-wrapping and can ship your order to any destination, domestic or international.

Should you wish to speak to anyone in the shop, for information or to place an order, our local number, toll-free number and our email information appear at the bottom of each page in this site. Our Contact page will supply you with any other information you might need to reach us.

In order to hone our expertise, each area of interest is assigned to a specific staff member, who carefully follows the literature, reviews, and publishers' catalogues and releases in order to select the books we hope will please our eclectic clientele. You may ask to speak with the staff member responsible for the section which interests you.
